ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting directly to our Regional HR Manager EMEA, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely HR advice, support and services to managers and employees across all functional HR areas, in the delivery of organisational objectives.The role has a primary HR transactional focus with involvement in contributing to and assisting with the implementation of strategic HR initiatives.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
OPERATIONAL:
- Acts as first point of call for Managers and employees on HR matters at the base site in DSI Austria;
- Supports Managers and Supervisors in DSI Austria with personnel management queries;
- Assists with management of absenteeism matters;
- Ensures timely and accurate preparation of all employee correspondence (e.g. meeting invitations, discipline letters, contracts, contract variations etc.) as required in accordance with established templates and processes;
- Provides notification and/or escalates particular HR matters to HR Manager EMEA;
- Plays active role in ensuring maintenance of employee personnel files and HR matter filing;
ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT & PERFORMANCE EXCELLENCE:
- Assists Managers with probationary period tracking, time frames and preparation of relevant documentation and correspondence;
- Advises and assists Managers in applying sound performance management (including appraisals) in accordance with company policy and best practice guidelines;
- Supports the HR Manager EMEA in delivering a company-wide process of organization development that addresses issues such as succession planning, superior workforce development, key employee retention, organizational design, and change management;
- Supports organizational development related projects – for example, employee satisfaction surveys, internal training initiatives, online performance appraisal, mentoring program, early career development program, diversity initiatives;
- Plays role in monitoring the organization's culture so that it supports the attainment of the company's goals and promotes employee satisfaction;
- Ensures Job Descriptions for DSI Austria are up to date.
EMPLOYEE/INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS:
- Assists with ensuring legal compliance of the HR function;
- Protects the interests of both employees and the company in accordance with company HR policies and relevant laws and regulations - minimizing risk;
- Provides professional advice to management on legislative requirements under the Austrian Labour Law regulations as requested by leaders or supports management with employee relations matters including workplace investigations and disciplinary action;
- Ensures consistency in application of Employee Relations processes in consideration of company policy, law, best practice and company precedents;
- Strives to resolve all Employee Relations matters in a prompt manner and in consultation with all relevant parties as appropriate.
RECRUITMENT & ONBOARDING:
- Facilitates end-to-end recruitment in DSI Austria in accordance with company policy and processes; aiming to reduce time to hire whilst ensuring best fit candidate;
- Maintains compliant and best practice recruitment files;
- Ensures the timely issue, completion and processing of new starter paperwork;
- Supports Hiring Managers to coordinate and conduct the Employee Induction program (Onboarding).
- The employee is obliged to carry out other instructions of the employer/line manager, in accordance with the type of work established in the employment contract.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree qualifications in Human Resource Management, Business or relevant discipline;
- Working knowledge of Austrian employment legislation and demonstrated ability in the application of this legislation;
- Knowledge and understanding of the various HR functions including end-to-end recruitment, with capability and passion in Employee Relations and Organisational Development functional area;
- Proficient in MS Programs including Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio;
- Proven ethics and ability to maintain strict confidentiality;
- Native German;
- Good oral and written command of English (min. B2 level)
- A minimum 3-4 yrs experience in a HR role, ideally in a manufacturing or heavy industry;
- Experience in working in a geographically disperse team;
- An empathetic and approachable demeanor with ability to develop and maintain strong and effective relationships both internally and externally;
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to work on their own as well as part of the team;
- Strong problem-solving ability.
