The Institute of Technology Assessment (ITA) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW) − Austria’s leading non-university research and science institution − has a double mission of research and policy advice: Our team carries out cutting-edge interdisciplinary research on the impacts of new technologies on society, the environment, and the economy, i.e. technology assessment (TA). The results of our work support Austria’s central public actors concerning technology governance: policy-makers, the administration, and civil society.We are offering a position as
ACADEMY SCIENTIST (F/M/X)(part-time, 30 hours per week)
for a duration of initially 12 months, with the option of extension, to be filled preferably by March 01, 2025.
Your tasks:
- Collaboration in various technology assessment projects with a focus on economic issues, perspectives and approaches
- Collaborative development of proposals for technology assessment projects within competitive public funding programmes
- Active participation in the institute’s inter- and transdisciplinary activities and mission-oriented research and science for policy
Your profile:
- University degree (Master's) and preferably a doctorate/PhD in economics
- Ideally, experience in the field of technology assessment or other inter- and transdisciplinary fields (such as ecological economics, political economy, or technology policy)
- Preferably training and experience in qualitative research methods and organisation of workshops
- Academic publications according to career stage
- Fluency in German and English
- Inter- and transdisciplinary communication and collaboration skills

The annual gross salary is € 49.876,05, according to the collective agreement of the Austrian Academy of Sciences
