Product Development Engineer (m/f/d)
As a key member of our Product Development team, you'll collaborate with a driven and agile group, interfacing with SKF's global factories, Sales & Application Engineering, Research and Technology Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing departments.Your role will be pivotal in steering the engineering efforts for ACBB, ThBB, hybrid bearing and Machinery special, ensuring synergy with stakeholders throughout SKF's comprehensive network, and significantly contributing to the success and expansion of our product lines.
Your responsibilities- Manage product portfolio by defining the product & technology roadmap, and tailoring application-specific offerings in sync with product line and sales teams
- Lead engineering projects aligned with our strategic vision, enhancing current bearing designs, and innovating design variations
- Develop, codify, and uphold technical specifications/ drawings and design rules
- Champion cost-efficiency initiatives in collaboration with factory and product line strategies
- Ensure precision in technical product data within databases and manufacturing workflows
- Maintain SKF's industry leadership by initiating and supporting technology development in partnership with Research Technology & Development and conducting strategic competitor analysis
- Protect SKF's Intellectual Assets and Intellectual Property through diligent product patent portfolio management
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Development
- Proficiency in machine element/rolling bearing design, kinematics, and technical drawing conventions
- Experience and knowledge in CREO Parametric & Windchill, FEM analysis
- Knowledge in metal heat treatment and grinding is advantageous
- Well-organized and self-driven with a strong commitment to excellence
- Proactive and open-minded collaborator capable of driving change and inspiring others
- Effective communicator with excellent facilitation skills
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written, with the ability to lead in a diverse international setting. Fluency in German is advantageous

Location: This position will be located in Steyr, Austria, on a local contract.

Permanent position in an international group
The minimum salary is EUR 4.112,78 per month in accordance with the collective agreement of the metal working industry in Austria. A higher salary is depending on your individual competence and work experience.
