AmCham Austria promotes the expansion and strengthening of trade and commerce relations between Austria and the US, and in doing so, it plays a dual role. Firstly, AmCham Austria assumes the role of an active lobbyist for US companies which have established branches in Austria and for Austrian companies that have commercial relations and interests in the United States.Secondly, AmCham promotes new business relationships of American companies in Austria and vice versa. The main areas of the AmCham activities are to host regular events and networking opportunities, provide access to the resources and support of the US embassy in Austria for members, representation of the members interests in policy discussions and access to exclusive information about economic and policy issues related to the US-Austria trade and investment.
We are seeking a charismatic and experienced Secretary General (m/f/d) for our organization. Your main responsibilities will include active membership management, managing projects, overseeing the budget, and effectively conducting lobbying activities.If you have substantial experience in the non-profit sector and possess a strong network, we look forward to receiving your application!
Key Responsibilities:
- Membership acquisition and active membership management: Develop and implement strategies to attract new members and retain existing members.
- Representing AmCham towards key stakeholders "on eye level"
- Organization and coordination of projects and events.
- Communication, lobbying and stakeholder management of the organization
- Creation and controlling of AmCham budgets, financial reporting and proactive collaboration with the board
- Responsible for the entire office, leadership of the team
- Marketing & public relationship to "make AmCham look good publicly"
Key Requirements:
- Several years of experience in non-profit management or related fields of public relations / lobbying.
- Strong organizational skills and project management competence.
- Excellent communication skills and networking experience.
- Interpersonal Skills and Teamwork: High social competence and the ability to work effectively in a team are indispensable.
- Excellent English and ideally US experience (e.g. foreign year)
- The willingness to work with high flexibility, as some evening events are part of the responsibility
The base salary is planned for 60.000 EUR p.a. and might vary depending on experience and performance. A variable compensation can be part of compensation based on business success.
